"These sixteen-year-olds commit crime to try to look like adults, because they believe that there are many privileges associated with adulthood, which is wrong." - Prof. M. Eisner
Hey, second entry of the month!
I'm blogging because I decided to give myself a break. NO, blogging is NOT the break. I ran away to Leicester, an otherwise unattractive city made special by the residence of my sister. Her accommodation, to be un-canadian-ly honest, sucks, big time! But who cares. It's not the place that matters, it's the people! In this case, the very awesome Chan sisters.
I could've easily rescheduled it (meaning making it never happen) - simply throw out the line, "I'm busy", which I typically use to thwart attempts of my family to start a longwinded conversation. A break isn't my thing; I've always assured myself and others that I didn't need one. This week's schedule would justify my excuse as well: there is an ugly concentration of due dates, appointments, and meetings. The typical thing I would do over the weekend in such a time would be working through it.
But no. No No No. I am not slaving my life away, at any point. The May(hem) Ball meetings were driving me crazy. Deprived people yelling at me in emails (oh they yell so loud!) made me rethink the net worth of my role (to myself, that is; I'm sure it doesn't matter much to them). Oh see how grumpy I am. I've been grumpy for the whole week, and what could be better than a runaway!!
So, great, folks, see you lay-ta!
p.s. the quote is memorable because: 1. it was said at 9am and I actually remember it; 2. it's the only thing I remember from today's lecture. Cheers.
